About lab-created diamonds

Same stones, different origin. Lab-created diamonds are made in a controlled lab setting, natural diamonds come from the earth. Both are beautiful and judged on their cut, colour, clarity and carat. 

  • Cut

    Diamond cut means it’s symmetry, proportion and polish. A good cut maximises sparkle and brilliance.

  • Colour

    Diamonds are graded by degrees of colourlessness, with grade ‘D’ recognised as colourless.

  • Clarity

    Diamond clarity is about inclusions, although most diamonds have small imperfections, ours are 100% clean to the naked eye.

  • Carat

    Diamond carat measures weight, our range is designed to deliver a perfect harmony of size, quality, and affordability.

  • Daily care

    Keep your ilkari jewellery away from harsh chemicals, and we recommend removing them before swimming and exercising.

  • Cleaning

    For at-home cleaning, use warm water and mild dish soap, soak and gently scrub. Rinse and dry with a lint-free cloth. Have your jewellery professionally cleaned and inspected every 12 months.

  • Storing

    You’ll receive your ilkari jewellery in a soft pouch, perfect for storing your jewellery at home and protecting from scratches when you travel.

There are a number of reasons why we have chosen to use lab grown diamonds in our jewellery – with the main one being price. Lab grown diamonds are visually, chemically and physically identical to mined diamonds. The only difference is in how they were formed. We love the idea that these pieces will last for generations just as a mined diamonds would – the main difference is in the affordability and therefore inclusivity for more people to enjoy.

With almost 20 years of experience in the loose diamond and diamond retail industry, we are confident in choosing quality diamonds. Each pair of earrings is quality checked when it arrives and we ensure we use international suppliers who are familiar with our standards. We provide an authenticity card with every purchase which confirms all the details of your purchase.

Natural diamonds are rarer and, therefore, more expensive; the removal of these diamonds from the earth also requires more natural resources.

Yes, for each piece you’ll receive a certificate of authenticity confirming exactly what you have purchased.

We want you to love your purchase, however if you are not completely satisfied we are here to help. Items must be returned within 30 days of purchase, without signs of wear or damage, in the original packaging with certificate of authenticity. To make a return, please email contact@ilkari.com.au

We only use solid gold in either 9 ct for our plain gold hoops and 14 ct for our diamond set pieces. We made the decision to use solid gold as we are making classic, timeless pieces that can be handed down to enjoy and be worn for generations.

We are currently focusing on a select line of classic earrings, and we only manufacture in small batches to ensure we are supplying only the highest quality pieces. We may expand our lines in the future, but for now we are focusing on earrings only.

While making our diamonds more accessible to the market is something we're proud of, we can't ignore the fact that far too many people are in need of everyday basics and face barriers far greater than luxury purchases. This year, we are proud to support Share the Dignity, a charity working tirelessly to end period poverty. For every ilkari purchase, we will make a $10 donation.
